Geführte Wanderung „Durch das Tal des Weidenbachs“
May 30, 2026
Simmerath-Steckenborn
Experience an unforgettable hike through a fascinating landscape on the edge of the Eifel National Park. Right at the beginning, we are greeted with a breathtaking view over the impressive Rursee, nestled in the gentle hills of the Eifel. Take a moment to enjoy this panorama at your leisure – it is the perfect start to our varied tour.
We initially follow the ridge paths, which offer us wide views over forests, meadows, and valleys. Soon the path narrows and takes us down natural trails into the valley. Here we let the charm of this natural paradise work its magic on us. At the idyllic Weidenbach, the hike transforms into a small adventure. The stream winds its way charmingly through forests and open meadows – a place that seems to have sprung from a picture book. Crossing the Weidenbach promises excitement and a nature experience at the same time – waterproof hiking boots are a faithful companion here.
A further highlight awaits us at the Heinrich-Geis-Stollen. This inconspicuous structure is a testament to the engineering skills of past times and invites us to take a look into the history of the region. Over varied forest paths, we finally ascend again to Steckenborn. Upon reaching the top, we are rewarded with a grand finale: a picturesque view of the Dreiborner Plateau all the way to the Ordensburg Vogelsang – a view that makes the hike unforgettable.
