Düren: Forstlehrpfad im Wald von Schloss Burgau
Düren
The forest around Burgau Castle is an ideal excursion destination for the whole family thanks to its network of hiking trails with almost no inclines. The main hiking trails are also suitable for baby carriages and for people using a wheelchair or walking frame. Numerous benches invite you to take a breather. If you are looking for a shady spot in the heat of summer, this is the place for you!
Burgau Castle, whose origins date back to the 14th century, was acquired in 1917 along with the surrounding forest by the town of Düren with the support of the Benno Schoeller Foundation. After its destruction in the Second World War, the romantic moated castle was rebuilt with the help of the citizens' campaign "Save Burgau". In addition to exhibitions, events are also held in the festival and concert hall.
