Tania Blixen's famous story is the culinary fairy tale of a celebrated master chef who sets out to learn humility and is rewarded with a feast of the senses. Quietly and poetically, Tania Blixen tells the story of a great French chef who has lost her profession and is unexpectedly brought to a small Norwegian town. Lovingly taken in by two pietistic sisters, she lives quietly and modestly for many years as their servant until one day she wins the lottery and invites the community to an authentic French banquet. Finally, she can prove that the pleasures of the palate work wonders and once again indulge in her culinary art to create a masterful, romantic dinner for her friends.
Martina Gedeck is well-known to a large audience from the film "The Baader Meinhof Complex" as Ulrike Meinhof or the Oscar-winning film "The Lives of Others." In it, she delivered one of her most convincing performances in the role of the sensitive, internally torn, yet unwaveringly creative actress Christa-Maria Sieland. Leading roles in "Bella Martha," "The Wall," or in international productions such as "Night Train to Lisbon" have made a lasting impression, as have her roles in films that attracted millions of viewers to the cinema.
The charismatic actress will now read from "Babette's Feast" by Tania Blixen and bring this enchanting story closer to her audience.
