Geführte Wanderung "Auf alten Pfaden um den Meuchelberg"
Dec 13, 2025
Heimbach
Our hike begins in the heart of the smallest town in North Rhine-Westphalia. Shortly after the start, we admire one of the many artworks in Heimbach. From here, our path leads steeply up the Meuchelberg along adventurous trails. Along the way, you will enjoy spectacular views of the idyllic Rur Valley, the impressive Hengebach Castle, and the Art Nouveau hydroelectric power station. Upon reaching the top, we take a break at the unique Eifel Loop. From here, the view extends over the Rur Lake and the Kermeter mountains. The return trip passes by striking rock formations and many-branched oaks of the Meuchelberg – a botanical curiosity whose secret you will discover on this tour.
The hike proceeds partially along narrow paths that perfectly reflect the charm of the region. The hike is not suitable for strollers. Sturdy shoes / hiking boots with tread soles are strongly recommended for this tour.
This tour is ideal for a brief glimpse into the diversity of the Eifel. You will experience enchanting nature, fabulous culture, and impressive views of the Eifel landscape.
