Wasserburg Niederzier

Today, little is known about Niederzier moated castle. Over the course of time, ownership changed hands again and again to different families. In 1922, the municipality of Niederzier acquired ownership of the moated castle. After its destruction in the Second World War, the municipality took care of its reconstruction and expanded its administrative headquarters. The protected building is still home to the Niederzier administration today. Today, the moated castle is used for various purposes, such as concerts and exhibitions. The Niederzier registry office is also located in the former meeting room of the castle building.
