The circular hiking trail no. 15 takes you 9.7 km through a landscape full of views and stories. Over the heights of the Rureifel and the Hürtgen Forest, the view opens up to the valleys of the Rur and Kall, all the way to Nideggen Castle. Quiet and impressive places await along the way: the Krawutschketurm tower with a view of the Eifel, the Forester's Cross, the images of the Virgin Mary and the Cross of the Seven Footfalls. Several resting places and benches invite you to linger.

A trail for all those who want to experience nature, vastness and history - truly Rur-Eifel.

Am Seeufer [J] | MTB-Tour Freifahrt Eifel

From the narrow Rur valley, head east (clockwise) up to the edge of the Börde. From there, the route continues undulating to Hergarten. Different vegetation, wide forest paths, steep trails and several ups and downs make this tour a very long and varied, but moderately difficult panoramic ride. You can start from the parking lots at the Heimbach or Abenden national park gate stations, at the Eschauel bathing beach or north and south of the Schwammenauel dam.
