LVR-KULTURHAUS Landsynagoge Rödingen
Titz-Rödingen
The Rödingen country synagogue, which was built in 1841 on the property of the local headman Isaak Ullmann in the village of Rödingen in the rural municipality of Titz, combines history and culture. The historically significant building offers insights into Jewish life in the countryside. Following its renovation, it was opened to the public in 2009 as the LVR-KULTURHAUS Landsynagoge Rödingen. A variety of events such as lectures, concerts, workshops, film screenings and readings invite visitors to visit alongside a permanent exhibition in the former home of the Ullmann family.
The Rödingen country synagogue is not only a museum, but also a living place of encounter and remembrance. It serves as a memorial to the persecution and extermination of the Jewish population during National Socialism and is a reminder of the rich cultural heritage that was almost wiped out by this persecution.
