KOMM (derived from the word "communication") is a place for art, culture, music and encounters in Düren. The socio-cultural center is located in the old Pleußmühle, which can be recognized by its striking brick façade and the large water wheel at August-Klotzstr. 21 (just a 5-minute walk from the city center). Situated directly on the Mühlenbach stream, the water wheel produces green electricity for Stadtwerke Düren, while KOMM "produces" culture. We are very well connected and can also put together a suitable cultural offer with artists and/or bands for your event. KSK and GEMA invoicing is our daily business and we can take care of everything for you.
The various rooms, which can be rented very cheaply, are suitable for different purposes. All rooms are barrier-free and there is a wheelchair-accessible toilet on the first floor. In general, drinks can be purchased through us and our service staff. You would have to arrange a caterer yourself, but we can make recommendations.
The rental prices can be found on our homepage (subpage "About us"), we will be happy to put together an individual package for you if you would like to combine several rooms.

Movement room:
Large open room (approx. 73 m²) with mirrored wall on the second floor. Can be divided in the middle by a partition wall. Seating for up to 30 people, kitchenette can be used on the same floor.

• PVC floor.
• Suitable for: Sports courses, workshops or courses with movement (up to 20 people)

Large group room:
Group room on the second floor with large group table in the middle and chairs. Kitchenette can be used on the same floor.

• Suitable for: Discussion groups, meetings, creative courses with table (up to 20 people)

Small group room
Group room on the second floor with group table in the middle and chairs.

• Suitable for: Discussion groups, meetings, creative courses with table (up to 10 people)

Gallery/exhibition room
Large, bright room (140 m²) on the first floor with spiral staircase to the upper floor (25 m²). Can be darkened on the lower floor. Can be seated in rows (approx. 60 seats) or at tables (U-shape, group tables up to approx. 35 people) or at high tables. A mold concert grand piano can be used for an extra charge. Drinks are available from our pub.

• Suitable for: Piano concert, reading, dance event, art exhibition, award ceremony, lecture, meeting, reception, buffet

Pub
Pub with bar and seating for up to approx. 45 people. For standing parties up to approx. 60 people. Possibility of using the terrace until 10 pm.

• Suitable for: Birthday, party, quiz night

Stage:
Approx. 140 m² room in the basement, multifunctional use. Various set-up options thanks to platforms. Maximum seating capacity with stage 112 people. Stand-up concerts, parties for up to approx. 150 people. Possibility to set up a mobile drinks bar in the room. Technically equipped with lighting and sound system (sound console: X32 from Behringer, lighting console: Strandligth 500ML)

• Suitable for: Any form of performance with technical support, party

Garden:
Approx. 600 square meter area directly behind the Pleußmühle. Stage and audience area weatherproof thanks to two large "Bedouin tents". Another large umbrella. Seating for up to 150 people. Technology: see "Stage", illuminated garden. Usable until 9.30 pm from mid-June to early September
