All indeland cycle routes run mainly on car-free paths, cycle paths along roads and in some cases on low-traffic side roads with predominantly flat gradients. The routes run on flat to slightly hilly terrain and are therefore also suitable for children and less trained cyclists.

The 17-kilometre Schloss- & Höhenroute is a combination of indeland cycle routes 10 and 11. It connects exciting cultural and historical places and leads up and down through indeland and around the pottery town of Langerwehe. The pottery museum vividly explains the history of the Langerwehe potters, which goes back over 1000 years. Exhibits, models, installations and films bring the working world of the potters to life for visitors. You will learn many interesting facts about the dangerous clay mining in underground shafts, the process of stoneware firing and the "Baaren", large storage vessels. The route continues past Wenau Monastery and below the stately Laufenburg. Sporty cyclists can make a detour to Laufenburg Castle, which is located on a hill surrounded by the Sührbach stream between Heistern and Merode, south of Jüngersdorf. The Dukes of Limburg built the Laufenburg in the 12th century to secure the border to the area of influence of the Archbishops of Cologne.A good opportunity for cyclists to take a short break in the Laufenburg café before continuing on Route 10 to the old church on the Rymelsberg in Langerwehe, which was built in the 15th century as a three-aisled hall church in the Gothic style. The varied route continues past the Roman Catholic St. Nicholas Chapel, one of the oldest historical and ecclesiastical monuments in the district of Düren dating back to the 11th/12th century. As a very special highlight, it leads persistent hikers or cyclists to Merode Castle, which is one of the most impressive stately homes in the region. Numerous unique musical and cultural events take place at Merode Castle, which can be perfectly combined with a walk or cycle tour.
