This Eifel view, at a height of 340 meters above sea level, on the Bildchesberg offers you a distant view in a south to north-westerly direction, with two core areas of the Eifel National Park in the field of vision.
The name of the Eifel view is due to the following incident: The teacher of the school formerly located on the Burgflecken built the first refuge on the Bildchesberg together with his pupils. When a pupil asked how long they would have to work there, the teacher replied: "We'll stay here until the Luna shines!" Since then, the Bildchesberg has been called "the Luna" by the locals.
The best way to reach the Eifel view is via hiking trail 49, the Klosterrunde.
